There are just not enough hours in the day for me to get everything done that needs to be done. I feel like I've been behind for about six weeks now. I am really looking forward to November. Once our rodeos are completed for the semester, I think I will finally get caught up. Until then, just keep on me if there is something you are looking for and not finding on here.
Next week isn't going to be any easier because I will be out of town at a pro rodeo while y'all are at Gruver. Each year I've been able to schedule our high school rodeos around this particular pro rodeo so there was not a conflict but that wasn't possible this year. In the end, we will all suffer a little because I have to get the entire Gruver rodeo ready by Tuesday night before I leave and you will most likely not get your payoff checks until Canadian because I will have to set up those two rodeos before wrapping up Gruver's. I will have a substitute secretary there to handle the draw, posting times and collecting grades from everyone.
On to other business: Wrangler members, please check this link to view your entries for this weekend. Make sure you are entered in the correct events and that I have you with the correct partners if you are in the ribbon roping or team roping. Please call me if you see any mistakes. There are a few boys looking for team roping partners and several looking for runners in the ribbon roping. I have plenty of girls available to run - call me for phone numbers. I don't know of any more team ropers so if there are any headers out there, please let me know.
Since grades are due before everyone will have their report cards, here is a copy of the "Request for Grades" form. A progress report will work if your school sends those out.
Keep checking back. I promise to get the arena directions, stall information and points updated this week.

I'm sorry I had to leave early Saturday but I really appreciate everybody getting their entries in before the rodeo was over. Results and official scores have been posted. Your checks will go in the mail today and your entry fees will be deposited no later than Tuesday. Once I get the Boys Ranch entries sorted I will try to get the rotations updated and I will also add the Wrangler Division list so you can double check that your entries are correct for this weekend. Point standings will be posted later this week.
Wrangler members: the high school rodeos have been running longer than expected so we more than likely won't get started by 7pm. If you are there by 6pm you will be in good shape. Everyone will need to come upstairs to get their membership packets before they compete. Your back numbers are in your packets and you are required to wear them at each rodeo. As always, we will try to run things off as smoothly and quickly as possible, but prepare yourselves for a late night at Boys Ranch. We have a lot of high school and junior high members and it just takes time to go through all of those runs. I am going to try to move the Wellington Wrangler rodeo to Sunday October 28th to avoid any more late night rodeos. I will know more by this weekend.
The 50/50 ticket went unclaimed at the rodeo. There was a total of $246 in the jackpot. The winning ticket was red # 664370. It must be claimed before the start of the PM performance at Boys Ranch or the money rolls over into the next drawing. Thanks to Terri Sexton for selling tickets.
GRADES will be due for everyone at Gruver. If you already have a new report card, you may bring it to me this weekend at Boys Ranch. I will get the "Request for Grades" form posted for those of you who don't have a new report card yet. If you are a member of both Tri-State and Region 1, you only need one copy of your grades.

WE HAVE A WINNER!
Austin McKee of Pampa claims to have the winning 50/50 ticket. Pending verification of the matching numbers, of course, this 8 year old will pocket $219. Not a bad return on a $5 investment. Congratulations Austin!

I hope everyone made it home safely after two days of 10+ hours of rodeo action. I know my eyelids were pretty heavy when I was driving home last night but what a great turnout for our first weekend of the new Tri-State season.
An unexpected increase in memberships translated into longer than expected rodeos. I think having longer rodeos is a good problem to have if you can even call it a problem. We will just all need to get used to spending a little more time together on Saturdays.
The 50/50 winning ticket went unclaimed Sunday night. The $437 jackpot will be split with whoever can show me the ticket matching #663957. The winner must come forward before the start of the PM performance at Pampa this weekend or everything will be added to the new drawing. Thank you to LaDon Paige and Rhonda Myers for selling tickets. If we have new volunteers each weekend, then no one should be burdened with doing all the work themselves. And remember, all the proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund.
Check out this scenario: If 100 people bought $5 worth of tickets, the jackpot would be $500 - $250 to the winner and $250 to the scholarship fund. Multiply $250 by our average of 16 rodeos a year and you get $4000 directly into scholarships for our seniors. Not a bad fundraiser.
So here's the challenge: I put $5 in my pocket for each rodeo so I know I have money for my 50/50 tickets. I want you all to try to do the same. My figures above are based on 100 people participating and there are easily several hundred spectators at each rodeo. Just imagine how big the jackpots could be!
I will do my best to get all of the checks in the mail today. If I miss the 5pm deadline, then they will definitely go out in the morning. Your entry fees will be deposited tomorrow.
I will be out of the office starting Wednesday because I am working at the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo in Amarillo. This means I will be leaving early on Saturday to get back to Amarillo in time for the final performance. Please take care of your Boys Ranch entries early in the day. If you know you are going to Boys Ranch, there is no need to wait until the Pampa rodeo is over to put your entries in the box. If you do that, the box may not be there. Please help me out and plan ahead. Thanks,

2007 Fall Rotations
Okay, here they are. These are your rotations for the fall semester. If you did not get your request, please remember that you are allowed to change performances for conflicts with school activities. Check with me if you are not sure how this works.
If you are in the AM at Dumas, you will also be in the AM at Pampa, Gruver and the Sunday rodeo at Canadian. You will be in the PM at Dalhart, Boys Ranch, Saturday at Canadian and Wellington.
