I am all packed and ready to go to Las Vegas this morning.  The office will be closed until I return on December 17th.  I will try to check e-mails but I make no guarantee that I will get back to you while I am gone.  If any of you are making the trip out there this year, look me up.  I will be at the South Point Casino.

I had a great weekend in Denver and a wonderful visit with more family than we expected on Sunday.  I have a lot to be thankful for right now, including having all of you in my life.

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving with your families.

The Office is closed for the rest of the weekend.  I'm on my way to Denver for the Mountain States Circuit Finals - mom is the secretary - and our family holiday - Thanksgiving comes early this year.

Have a good weekend and don't forget to get your fundraising items in the mail.  They are due December 1st and you miss one day of mail service next week with the holiday.

I have updated the Ineligible List for the Wrangler Division to reflect members who have not turned in their fundraising requirements.  Keep in mind that late fines are per item (region ads, state ad, bloomer ticket) and increase for each month that you are late.  That's a potential of $75 extra a month so don't delay any longer!

If you sent money for an ad but did not send in artwork, you have until December 15th to get that to me or it becomes a donation.

BLOOMER TICKETS
Every Region 1 member - high school and junior high - received a Bloomer trailer ticket in their membership packet.  Only 2000 were printed for the entire state.  I am VERY limited on extra copies.  It is your responsibility to keep up with the one provided to you to sale.  Once I run out of my extras, that is it.  There are no more.  And you will still be required to turn in the $50 for the ticket even if you lost yours.

As you can see from the Home Page and this page, I am in the process of updating our website.  When complete, I hope it will be easier to find the information you are looking for.

Wednesday night, I sent e-mails to the Wrangler Division members who had not turned in their fundraising items:  Bloomer trailer ticket, state program ad and region program ads.  Some of the responses I've received tell me there is still confusion on the ads.  Below is a copy of what has been posted on the Wrangler News page for over a month:

Minimum requirements for all Wrangler Division members are:

1 - $50 program ad for the Texas Wrangler Junior High Division Rodeo Finals

1 - $50 Bloomer trailer raffle ticket

$100 in program ads for the Region 1 spring rodeo program

The state ad and the region ads are TWO different requirements.  You received two different ad forms in your membership packet.  And yes, you have to sell both along with the Bloomer ticket.  Total minimum fundraising dollars from each member totals $200.

The reason you have a deadline to get all of this turned in is because I have deadlines for forwarding it to the State Office.  I know we have a lot of new members this year and cancelling the last rodeo threw everyone off kilter but these items still have to be turned in if you want to be eligible for spring competition.  It is your choice to turn them in now or later - but later will cost you more.

High school members need to be thinking about their fundraising requirements, also.  Your deadline is just 3 weeks away.

I received this in my e-mail this morning.  It is the most amazing horse video I have ever seen.  And I am not exaggerating.  Instead of forwarding it in e-mail, I decided to post it here.

I hope this link works.  If it doesn't, copy and paste it into your browser.

Whether you approve of bullfighting or not, you will recognize the horse's bravery, intelligence, and ability.

 FOCUS ON THE HORSE!

I hope all of you who are of age took advantage of your right to vote today.

Our final 50/50 ticket of the semester was claimed by Kevin Seawright.  There was a little trouble with the mail system that delayed confirmation of the winning ticket but the original copy and the second copy both arrived today.  Congratulations Kevin and thanks for playing!

I will be auditing Tri-State points this week and posting my charts for your comparison.  I will wait until all of the approved cuttings are completed in a couple of weeks to audit the Region 1 points.

I hope you are all working on your fundraising items that are due December 1st.  (Wrangler members' items were due today!)  You don't have to wait until the last minute to send them in.  I added charts to each association page to show who has turned things in so far and will update it with each day's mail.  This will be your way to confirm that I have received what you mailed in.  If something is missing, give me a call ASAP.

OFFICE CLOSINGS

The Tri-State Office will be closed November 19-22 for an early Thanksgiving with my family and also November 30 - December 15 while I am in Las Vegas for the NFR.

See those dates up there?  That is why you need to get your fundraising items in early.

Hope you all had a happy and safe Halloween,
