Hope you all have a Happy New Year.  I am off to Waco for the Texas Circuit Finals and then to Odessa for the second week of their rodeo.  I have forwarded the office phone so you can still reach me if you need anything and I will also be checking e-mails.

I won't be able to update the fundraising pages until I return so don't stress if you mail your things in and it doesn't show up right away.

I just got a call letting me know about an error on the schedule I mailed out in the Christmas cards yesterday.  It is for the Wrangler Division members.

The first weekend of rodeos in Vernon will be Saturday February 28th and Sunday March 1st.  I will be getting the schedule page updated here in the next few days and it will have the correct information.  Sorry for any confusion.

FINALLY!  I feel close to my old self again.  Sitting in the waiting room this morning for my third visit to the doctor, it occurred to me how easy it is to take things for granted - in my case, good health.  You don't realize how good your life is going until you run into a hiccup that puts everything on hold.  Maybe I needed this torture to start the new year off with the right attitude.

I wish you all safe travels this week, enjoyable time with your families and a very Merry Christmas.

My apologies for not getting the fundraising lists updated the last few days.  I have been out of commission with a headache going on 3 days now (that I think is a migraine) and the doctor has diagnosed me with strep throat (which they say can cause my headaches.)  Regardless, I don't function well with non-stop pain so nothing has gotten done since around 2pm on Friday.  I even had to ask my mother to fill in for me at the Directors meeting yesterday.  Now I know she really loves me.

So give me another day to see if I can kick this headache and I will sort through the notes from the meeting and start getting this website caught up.

The program ads and raffle ticket pages have been updated along with the ineligible lists.  There is quite a long list of ineligible members right now.  Everything was due December 1st for all high school members.  If your name is on that list it could be because you are missing only one fundraising item or all of them.  Call or e-mail me to get this cleared up and keep in mind that late fines are per item.

It is good to be back in Texas!  I am sorting through the mail and hope to have the eligibility pages updated by tonight so you can confirm that I received your items while I was out of town.  Other than a little Christmas shopping, I should be in the office the rest of the month.  Give me a call if you need anything.

Merry Christmas,

I got word today that the box outside my office door was overflowing with fundraising money.  Thankfully, Susan Pool was kind enough to gather everything up that hadn't blown away.  I won't take responsibility for anything left in that box when it has been posted that I am out of town for 2 weeks.  Depending on how you put it in an envelope, postage is only $1 - or less.  Then you have peace of mind that it is secure until I get back to town.

For those of you who missed the deadline, you get one more week of grace period to get your items and money turned in.  I will start late fines for anything that is not in my mail when I get home.

HIGH SCHOOL AND JUNIOR HIGH ALL STAR TEAM MEMBERS:  I should have your new shirts by the time I get home.  I will get those in the mail to you ASAP.  You will take a group photo at one of the spring rodeos.  I will let you know which one once the schedule is set.
