Not that I've been working all that hard lately, but I'm leaving tomorrow for a little vacation before the new year arrives. When I get back, I will update the ineligible lists to show everyone who is missing fundraising items - AND owes late fines. So you have a few days left in the grace period to get your ads and tickets turned in. Please take advantage of it. I hate imposing those late fines just as much as you hate paying them.

I heard today that Keri Beth Cleavinger's and Jim Riemer's surgeries went well this week. Good news!
The fundraising charts have been updated through today's mail. Please look them over to make sure your money has been posted correctly. If you have not turned in artwork for an ad, please do so ASAP.
Have a good weekend.

I hope everyone is doing okay. For those of you who haven't turned in all of your fundraising requirements, you still need to get those in to me. You cannot compete at the spring rodeos until all of your fundraising requirements have been met and you are current on your report cards.
Now, to lighten the mood a little. Here is a joke my brother told a few weeks ago that still makes me chuckle:
Q. When you see a flock of birds flying in a V formation, why is one side of the V longer than the other side?
A. There are more birds on that side.
It's not a great joke and I didn't laugh at first (because I was annoyed with him at the time) but after thinking about it for a few minutes I couldn't hold back the laughter. So now, every time I see birds flying in formation, I smile and laugh a little and think fondly of my brother and forget about how mad he makes me sometimes.

I need more prayers.
Keri Beth Cleavinger, Colt's mom, is having surgery today in Houston to remove a tumor. She is expected back home this week.
Also, Jim Riemer, Reese's dad and a Tri-State Director for many years, was diagnosed with cancer in his lower jaw and will have surgery tomorrow to remove the jaw bone and replace it with bone from his leg. He will be required to stay in the hospital for a few weeks.
Please pray for these families and the families who lost loved ones last Friday.

Some of our members are going through some hard times today. Jerri Von Thomas, Plainview Club sponsor, lost her father to cancer this morning (Pecos' grandfather.) I also just learned that Desiray Robinett of Sunray (Dumas Club) lost her father in a small plane crash. Losing a loved one is never easy and during the Christmas season it is so much harder. Please keep these families in your prayers.

The fundraising charts are finally updated to show everything I received through Monday. If you have turned in everything but your name is not showing up on all of the charts, call me and we will go through my notes to figure it out together.
There are a lot of missing names in those charts - including the second six weeks report cards. I know it is harder to meet deadlines when you don't have the incentive of competing at the next rodeo, but you still have to get everything to me on time. Those late fines add up pretty quickly. Remember, they are PER ITEM. Please don't call me with excuses unless you are very creative. After six years, I've heard them all. Just get your items turned in. PLEASE!!
I try to test out new links on the website when I post them, but sometimes I mess up old ones and don't realize it. This website is for your information and convenience. If you come across a link that isn't working, please let me know so I can fix it.

I am back in reality. No more bright lights of Las Vegas for another year. Instead, I get to watch the dust bowl re-created outside my door. Home. Sweet. Home. LOL.
I have a lot of mail to sort through but I hope to have all of the fundraising charts updated by tomorrow night. Be sure you check these to make sure you are listed. If you are NOT listed, that means I haven't received your ads or tickets.
I have posted a new rodeo school for bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding hosted by the PRCA. It is limited to 50 students. I called the PRCA today to confirm that there are still positions open before I posted the information, but of course, everyone is in Las Vegas this week. So hopefully you can still get in if you are interested.
PRCA ProRodeo Camp - Forth Worth
Hang in there for another couple weeks of school. Christmas break will be here before you know it!
