I can't believe September starts tomorrow.  Books are now open for Dalhart and Dumas and we are just 12 days away from our first rodeo of the season.  Ready.  Set.  Go!

I am finishing up the information for student officers and Whatakid.  Check out the Tri-State and Region 1 news pages for details.  Deadline for these nominations is Wednesday September 9th.  Call me if you have any questions.

I am happy to announce a new partnership with Rodeokidz.com.  Details are posted on the Tri-State news page.

Tomorrow I will start posting the team roping pairings so those of you who are looking for a partner will know who is available.  I will update it daily as more entries come in.

If you are mailing your membership applications, today is the last day you can do that and expect it to get to me by tomorrow's deadline.  If you are bringing it directly to the office, please call ahead and make sure I am going to here before you make the drive.

Wrangler members - I have not processed any of your memberships yet.  Since we aren't pressed for time, I am waiting until I get all of the high school ones done this week before starting on yours.  I will start sending out your entry envelopes sometime next week.  If you were chosen to be on the Wrangler All Star team, I MUST have your membership no later than September 15th.  You should all have received your contract from the state office by now stating your upcoming deadlines.  Don't miss them!

The first batch of entry envelopes were mailed yesterday.  There will be a one day turnaround the rest of this week.  So, the memberships that I picked up yesterday will get envelopes mailed out today.  The memberships that come in today will get envelopes mailed out tomorrow, and so forth.  I encourage you to not wait until the Saturday deadline to get your membership turned in.  Those envelopes will not be mailed until Monday which is the day the entries open for Dalhart and Dumas.  Depending on mail delivery times, you have the potential of getting your entries in too late.

Seniors - Will you please e-mail me your graduation dates?  I am trying to figure out how many conflicts we have in May so the spring schedule can be finalized as soon as possible.

The mowing is done.  The filing is done.  And I have the new entry envelopes now.  Things are falling into place.  I should be able to mail envelopes on Tuesday to everyone who has returned their membership applications so far.  Entries for Dalhart and Dumas open one week from today so be sure to get your membership in no later than this Saturday so you will be eligible to enter.

I have made a change to the fall high school rodeo schedule.  We have a state board meeting the weekend of October 17th and I had it written down for the weekend of the 24th.  So Plainview has graciously agreed to move weekends to correct my mistake. 

This change will also give the members who compete in rodeo and cutting events two more cuttings that are not double-booked with our rodeos.  So aside from the confusion I've created, I think everything will work out well.

Update:  my niece has already been mowing some this morning.  I think it is going to be a good day!

The Wrangler All Star teams have been announced and I posted them on the Region 1 and Wrangler news pages.   All team members must return their membership applications to me no later than September 15th to remain eligible.  Contracts are being sent from the state offices and must be returned no later than October 15th.   Congratulations to each of you!!

I was just getting geared up last night to do some work on here when the lightning started firing around us.  When motivation hits me, I try to take advantage of it and get as much done as I can.  But I decided it was in the best interest of my computer and other office equipment to shut everything down during the storm.

So here I am today starting over.  I will try to get as much updated as I can before my niece arrives tonight.  I've heard she has learned to wash dishes at her house so I am hoping she is big enough to push the lawn mower around a little this weekend.  That would help me out a ton!  LOL!

I will be posting information on each of the news pages as it applies to each association or division.  I have not updated any of the forms yet because I prefer to mail them out myself.  That way I know potential members are getting the correct information.  I am waiting on new entry envelopes from the printers.  Hopefully I will get them by Friday so I can work over the weekend and mail out on Monday to everyone who has turned their memberships so far.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND YOUR ENTRY ENVELOPES SHOULD NOT ARRIVE AT THE SAME TIME.  Throw away any envelopes you may still have from last year.  They are no longer correct.  I will send you new envelopes once your membership is processed.

I will be uploading to the internet periodically tonight.  Don't assume that what you see right now is all of the updates.  There may be more coming later.

Okay.  It took me until today to get membership packets in the mail, but they are finally on their way to each of you.  I'll be gone the rest of the week for a pro rodeo but I will try to get information posted while I'm gone about some of the changes you will be seeing this semester.

The phone will be forwarded and I will be checking e-mails the rest of the week in case you have any questions.

The fall schedule of rodeos has been posted on the schedule page.  This is what everyone waits for as patiently as they possibly can.  I have updated the deadlines chart for when membership applications are due in order to be eligible to enter specific rodeos.  This chart also shows when the entries open and close for each rodeo.

I will be working on membership packets the next few days.  They should be in the mail no later than Saturday and that will give you a full three weeks to get them back to me if you want to enter the first weekend of high school rodeos.  Of course, you don't have to wait until those three weeks are up to join.  The earlier you join, the earlier you get your entry forms.  But I will explain all of that in your packet.
