I thought everyone was doing a good job of getting their semester reports cards turned in until I counted how many were missing. I really don't like charging late fines on report cards, but I will if that is what it takes to get them from you. Below is a link to a page that shows who has turned theirs in as of this morning.
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has turned in their report cards and fundraising items without me having to beg and plead.

Well, this week has just flown by. I can't believe it is already Friday and I still have so much left on my to-do list. I've been dealing with a sore throat since Monday night but I can't really use it as an excuse because it's not like I've been laid up in bed all week. Plus, I don't like admitting that I am sick. If I can get out of bed, then it doesn't count as a true illness.
I really have gotten a lot of work done this week. (Don't you just love how we talk? Is "gotten" even a real word?) It's just that the big ticket item on my list is to type the minutes from the board meeting last weekend and I keep putting it off. I dread typing minutes so I will do everything else that may possibly need to be done until there is no choice left but the minutes. Once I get started, it is never that bad so I don't know why I put it off. I just do.
Even though it is still January, it is time to start looking ahead to the year end finals. The Directors worked on the Tri-State Finals last week and I have also received the information for high school and junior high state finals from the state secretaries. I will be updating the information on the respective finals pages soon but I don't think very much has changed from last year's information if you want to start planning now.
Have a good weekend,

The Ineligible Lists have been updated to show who is missing fundraising items. Don't forget that you will owe late fines if you are on this list. I will be starting on my list of semester report cards that have come in later today. Make sure you send yours in to me when you get yours.

I am finally back home. It seems like a year ago since I slept in my own bed. Ha Ha! The suitcases are completely unpacked but I'm thinking the mountain of laundry is going to have to wait another day or two. I'm just not feeling the urge to sort through it all. If it wasn't so cold, I would consider throwing it all in the back of the truck and going through a car wash. But I would probably regret that later. Good thing winter arrived before I could make such a rash decision.
I e-mailed the spring cutting schedule to all of the high school members this morning. I was behind on getting our dates turned in and just found out late last week that this weekend's cuttings will get to count for points. All of the spring cuttings are in Amarillo and all but one of them are on days the DO NOT conflict with the rodeos. It would be really nice to see more of our members getting involved in the cutting. If you get the chance, go and watch one of these events and see if it appeals to you. Then if you want to learn more about it, I can get you in touch with people more knowledgable than me that can show you the ropes.
Semester report cards have starting coming in. Don't forget to get yours to me so I can forward it on to the state office. I should have one from everyone by the end of January.
Our Board of Directors and student officers meet this weekend to make the majority of the decisions for our Tri-State Finals and select the companies who will be making our high school and junior high awards. The student officers and your Board members are elected to represent the membership. If you have an opinion on something you would like to have discussed at the meeting, please give one of them a call.
Try to stay warm this week!
