FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PAGE

Q.  How do I join?

A.  I prefer to mail out membership applications so I know you are getting the correct information, however, they are available to download here if you are confident in your ability to follow instructions.  You can always call the office if you have any questions.  There are forms that MUST be printed front and back.  If they come in as single pages, your membership will not be processed.

Q.  Do I have to join both Tri-State and Region 1?

A.  No.  It is your choice to join Tri-State, Region 1 or both associations.  Here is a letter comparing both associations that may help you with your decision.

Q.  I wasn't at the last rodeo and I don't have any entry envelopes.  How can I enter the next rodeo?

A.  You can enter with these forms:  Tri-State Boys, Tri-State Girls, Region 1 High School, Region 1 Wrangler Division.  These are just copies of your regular entry envelopes.  Print them off, fill them out and mail them with your entry fees in a regular envelope.  Make sure you send them in before the entry deadline.  You can always pick up extra entry envelopes at any of the rodeos.

Q.  Where is the arena?

A.  Follow this link to find directions to each arena.

Q.  Are there any stalls available?

A.  Here is a list of the horse accommodations that I know of in each town.  I will add to it as more information becomes available.

Q.  Are there any motels?

A.  Here is a list of motels and phone numbers I collected off of an internet search.

Q.  Can I write one check for everything?

A.  No and yes.  You must keep Tri-State and Region 1 money separate.  However, if we have two rodeos in one weekend I will allow you to use one check for both rodeos as long as one check is for Tri-State fees and one check is for Region 1 fees.

I also need you to keep the items you are paying for separate.  For example, program ads, raffle tickets, late fines, etc.  It helps me keep everything straight on mind end so that you get credit for the items you turned in.

This applies to the Wrangler Division, also.

Q.  Can you help me with my NHSRA membership application?

TRANSCRIPTS - If you are joining both Tri-State and Region 1, you only need to send one transcript.  It is okay if you send one for each membership, but you will be all right with only one.

EFFECTIVE DATES - I will fill in the effective date on the back of the NHSRA application.  This is the date that I receive your membership in my office.  This is the only blank you are allowed to "leave blank."

NAMES - If you go by your middle name instead of your first name, please make sure you mark that somehow on your application so I enter it in the computer correctly.

OUT OF STATE TRANSFERS - For those of you who do not have Texas addresses and wish to compete in Region 1 (high school and junior high), you will need to get a transfer approved along with your membership.  You only have to do this your first year of membership.  Wrangler members who have been approved should still be good for the high school division.  If I find out otherwise, I will let you all know ASAP.

STATE/PROVINCE QUESTIONS - The state you attend school in should be the same state as your address.  (There are a few members that live near state lines and cross over them to go to school.)
