2009 Spring
Schedule
The spring schedule has not been completed yet. I know many of
you try to plan as far in advance as possible, but I cannot tell you
anything until the Board meets in late December.

2008 Fall
Cutting Dates
Cutting events for Region 1 members are sponsored by Panhandle
Cutting Horse Association (PCHA) and Palo Duro Cutting Horse
Association (PDCHA). Only scores from the Youth class are used to award
points for Region 1 and the Top 10 boys and the Top 10 girls advance
to the State Finals in Abilene. Please call me if you have any
questions.
PCHA Secretary is Sophie Feger. PCHA cuttings will be held at
the Hemphill County Expo in Canadian, the Bill Cody Arena in
Amarillo and the Jones Quarter Horse Arena in Amarillo. Here is a link

PERFORMANCES
AM Performances begin at 10am.
The order of events is: bareback riding, pole bending, saddle
bronc riding, breakaway roping, calf roping, barrel racing, ribbon
roping, goat tying and bull riding.
There is a
30 minute break between the AM
Performance and the team roping. During this break the club
hosting the rodeo will provide church services.
All of the team
roping is held between the two regular performances.
It will not start before 1pm.
PM Performances follow the team roping but
will not start before 2pm. The order of events is:
steer wrestling, bareback riding, pole bending, saddle bronc riding,
breakaway roping, calf roping, barrel racing, ribbon roping, goat
tying and bull riding.
Wrangler Division events the
same day as a high school rodeo will follow the
PM Performance (approximately 7pm.) Their
order of events is: team roping, chute dogging, pole
bending, boys and girls breakaway roping, calf roping, barrel
racing, ribbon roping (boys and girls team event), boys and girls
goat tying and junior bull riding.
When Wrangler Division events are
held separately from the high school rodeo,
the first rodeo will begin at 9am. There will be a
30 minute break before the second rodeo
begins. The
order of events is the same as above.

ENTERING A RODEO
Entries
open 12 days before and
close 7 days before the date of
the rodeo you are entering. If there are two rodeos in one weekend
(Saturday and Sunday), the entries for the Sunday rodeo have the same
deadlines as the Saturday rodeo. Entries received earlier than 12
days prior to the date of the rodeo have a chance of getting mixed up
with the wrong rodeo or even lost, and therefore, will be returned.
Late entries
will be fined $25 each until Tuesday (4 days prior to the rodeo you are
entering.) No entries will be accepted after Tuesday. Fines
are assessed by the envelope - not the event. Keep in mind if you are entering Tri-State and Region 1 events that you have
the potential of $50 in fines per rodeo.
Entries must be mailed in for the first rodeo of each semester.
Once the rodeos begin, you may enter the next rodeo by placing your
completed entry envelopes in the entry box. Blank entry envelopes
will be provided at each rodeo.
