GENERAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Membership is open to all high school students, grades 9 through 12 who are members of a Tri-State high school rodeo club and are in good standing with TSHSRA.  To be in good standing, a member must be considered a full-time student passing at least 70% of your classes. Proof of eligibility is the responsibility of the member and/or parents.  Annual membership dues are $60 and include a subscription to Cowboy Times magazine.  Click here to get a membership application.

Our year runs from August 1st through July 31st.  Our fall rodeos typically start the week after Labor Day and run through the end of October or early November.  In the spring, we start at the end of February and go through the month of March.  The last day to be able to earn points for finals qualification is April 7th.

Tri-State has its own year end finals.  Saddles are awarded to the Year End Champions in each event and both all arounds and buckles are awarded to reserve year end champions, finals average champions and reserve finals average champions, as well as, rookies of the year.  The top 15 in points in each event qualify to the Tri-State Finals in May.  You can follow this link to see information from last year's Tri-State Finals.

There are fundraising requirements for each member (in addition to any fundraising required by your individual club) that must be completed to remain eligible for rodeo competition:

  • Tri-State Finals Program Ad - each member of TriState is required to sell at least one (1) $50 ad for the Tri-State Finals program.  Commissions are paid to members who sell sponsorships of $250 or more.

  • Yard Bird Bingo - this game is described below.  Each high school and junior high member is required to sell two (2) tickets per game - a total of $80.

Proceeds from these fundraisers go towards finals added money and awards.
